The Unlimited Learning Space was a classroom set up to remove some of the limits to learning. Students were encouraged to develop a more independent approach to gaining knowledge and creating solutions, as they managed their time and resources through a learning contract. Tasks and activities in the ULS were planned to promote critical thinking and a deeper level of understanding. We focussed on Blooms Taxonomy of thinking, De Bono's 6 thinking hats and Thinkers Keys in relation to the topic they were engaged in and with 2 teachers in the space, students were well supported through this process.
Five classes benefited from being in the ULS and now they are using similar approaches within their own classrooms to get students to think deeply, critically and reflect on their learning.
